1 Nephi 1 – EZ Reading Flow (80% English / 20% Esperanto)

Verse 1

I, Nephi, having been born of goodly gepatroj (parents), was taught in all the scio (knowledge) of my patro (father); and having seen many afliktoj (afflictions), nevertheless I was highly favored of the Eterno (Lord).

Verse 2

I make a record in the lingvo (language) of my patro, which consists of the scio (learning) of the Jews and the lingvo (language) of the Egyptians.

Verse 3

And I know that the registro (record) I make is vera (true); and I write with my own mano (hand).

Verse 4

In the commencement of the first year of Zedekiah’s reign, many prophets came, profetante (prophesying) that Jerusalem must repent or be detruita (destroyed).

Verse 5

My patro Lehi prayed unto the Eterno with all his koro (heart) on behalf of his people.

Verse 6

And it came to pass that he saw in a vidado (vision) a pillar of lumo (light) brighter than the sun.

Verse 7

And he saw libro (a book) in the hand of an angelo (angel); and he read it, saying that Jerusalem would be detruita (destroyed) because of wickedness.

Verse 8

And he saw many profetoj (prophets) in Jerusalem being konfuzitaj (confounded) by the people.

Verse 9

And he heard a voice saying: “Blessed art thou, patro Lehi, for thy fido (faith) in the Eterno.”

Verse 10

And it came to pass that he returned home to his domo (house) and was ĝoja (joyful) because of the vidado (vision).

Verse 11

And he testified of the things which he had seen and heard; but the people did malakcepti (reject) his words.

Verse 12

And he spake of the coming Savior and the vorto (word) of Dio.

Verse 13

And he told of the celo (purpose) of life and the kuro (path) to salvation.

Verse 14

And it came to pass that his filoj (sons) heard his paroloj (words).

Verse 15

And it came to pass that I, Nephi, also saw in a vidado (vision) many marvelous vidoj (things) concerning my people.

Verse 16

And I saw that Jerusalem would be detruita (destroyed) because of malbono (wickedness).

Verse 17

And I saw that the profetoj (prophets) were maljustaj (rejected) by the people.

Verse 18

And I saw the coming of the Messio (Messiah) and the redemption of homo (man).

Verse 19

And I made a record of all these things upon plato (plates) by the mano (hand) of Nephi.

Verse 20

And I know that these things are vera (true) and testify of the goodness of the Eterno in all the lands of my people.
